Axebay has provided a messaging system for you the member, so that you can
communicate with other members without revealing your personal details such as
phone numbers or email addresses. You can use the messaging system to ask a
seller a question about an item they have listed, negotiate the price of an item
listed with a standard ad, respond to questions from buyers, supply your postal
address for receiving goods, supply payment details, supply your email address
for further communication or you can use Axebay’s messaging system just to stay
in touch with other members.

Using Messaging
There are various ways you can use Axebay’s messaging system.
Ask the seller a question
Simply click on the “Ask Seller a Question” link in the “Meet the seller”
menu on the right hand side of the page of any ad listing.
You will be taken to the message page where you can select a subject from the
drop down list. The subject titles are “General Question about this item”,
“Question about shipping this item”, “Question about how to pay for this item”.
Enter your message in the space provided and click on the “Send Message”
button.
If you wish you can even have your message emailed to you so you can keep
track of your sent messages.
Axebay will store all your sent messages and you can retrieve them from the
sent link in the My Axebay -> Messages center.
Reading Messages
Check your message inbox frequently for any new messages. You can receive email
alerts about new messages by turning on email alerts in My Axebay-> Account ->
Preferences under the heading “Delivery Options” and sub-heading “Optionally
send email.” See My Axebay – Managing My Account for further details.
To retrieve your messages go to My Axebay and click on the “MESSAGES” tab. The
number of unread messages will appear in parenthesis () after the word MESSAGES
on the “Messages” tab. A new message is signified by a closed yellow envelope
and a read message is signified by an open white envelope. Click on the subject
line of any message to read the message.
To reply to a message simply click the “Reply” button. Your message will be sent
to the member who sent you the current message along with the original message
sent to you. Axebay includes all messages in a message of the current thread so
you can trace the history of the communication.
Contact a member
To make initial contact with a member when you are not asking a seller a
question:
Go to My Axebay -> Messages and click on the “Find & Contact a Member” link
on the left hand side of the page in the “Contacts” menu.
Enter the full or partial name of a member.
Click on the yellow envelope
Write your message and don’t forget the subject line.
You can block members from sending you messages and bidding on your items.
