Axebay policies are rules
and guidelines that help to create a safe, fair and enjoyable trading
environment for all Axebay members. As a seller, you are responsible for
reviewing and understanding Axebay’s selling policies, as well as all applicable
laws and regulations as outlined in the User Agreement.
Learning about Axebay selling policies
before you list an item will help
you to avoid unintentionally breaking rules. Axebay selling policies are updated
to respond to marketplace, community and security issues, so it is important to
check them regularly for changes.
Violations of these policies may result in a range of actions, including:
- Listing cancellation
- Limits on account
privileges
- Account suspension
- Legal action
Every seller must know
the following:
- What items can and
cannot be listed (see items you can and cannot sell)
- Rules about
Intellectual Property – Items and listings that have the potential of
violating certain copyrights, trademarks, or other rights.
- Actions that are not
allowed in listings, such as:
- Listing items in
inappropriate categories.
- Misrepresenting
the item in any way including where the item is located.
- Use misleading
titles.
- Adding to the
price of shipping.
- Forms of payment that
sellers may accept from buyers such as:
- PayPal, credit
cards, debit cards.
- Bank transfers
- Cash on Delivery
(COD) or payment in person
- Personal cheques,
money orders or bank cheques.
Sellers must also:
- Honor the transaction
contract. Sellers cannot fail to deliver an item for which payment was
accepted, significantly misrepresent an item by not meeting the terms and
item description outlined in the listing, or refuse to accept payment for an
item at the end of a successful sale.
- Pay relevant fees and
taxes.
Sellers must
Not:
- Bid on their own
item, or have family members, friends, roommates or employees bid on their
item.
- Solicit anyone to bid
on their own item on their behalf.
- Advertise or auction
an item that does not exist.
- Advertise or auction
an item that they have previously sold and received payment for.
- Re-list an item by
way of a standard ad or auction that they have previously sold.
- Engage in shill
bidding to artificially increase an item’s price or apparent desirability.
Bidders on an item must be wholly independent from the seller of that item.
Sunset Clause
When a buyer bids on an item at auction or agrees to buy an item listed with a
standard ad listing they enter into a legal agreement to buy the item.
For standard ad listings only
Axebay has provided a sunset clause which
enables the seller at their discretion to void a transaction for an item listed
with a standard ad if they have not received payment within three (3) days. In
order for the transaction to be become null and void the seller must contact the
buyer if they have not paid after three (3) days and give the seller a further
24 hours notice to pay. If after that 24 hour period no payment is forthcoming
the seller can void the transaction and sell the item to any other interested
buyer.
